Workflow Templates
Browse, install, and share workflow templates to get started quickly or publish your own
Templates are pre-built workflows you can install into your workspace and customize. Browse the public catalog, install with one click, or share your own workflows as templates.
Browsing templates
The template catalog is available at /templates. Each template shows its name, description, required integrations, and install count.
Filter by category tag (e.g., SaaS operations, content creation, client management, e-commerce) or search by keyword. Featured templates appear first, followed by most-installed.
Installing a template
Click install on any template to create a new workflow in your workspace. The installed workflow is a full copy of the template definition -- it is not linked to the original. You can edit it immediately without affecting the template or other users who installed it.
If the template requires integrations you have not connected, Rills lists the missing integrations after install so you can set them up before running the workflow. See integrations for connecting external services.
Quick-start templates
During onboarding, Rills presents a selection of templates to help you create your first workflow. These are the same templates from the public catalog, surfaced at the right moment.
Sharing your workflows
Publish any workflow as a template for others to install.
Sharing creates an unlisted template with a unique URL. You can optionally set an expiration (up to 365 days) and provide a name and description. The workflow definition is sanitized before sharing -- credentials and workspace-specific data are stripped.
Shared templates track their source workflow and workspace for attribution. The URL can be shared directly or posted publicly.
Versioning
Templates support version history. Each version contains the complete workflow definition, a changelog, and a list of required integrations.
When a user installs a template, they receive the latest version. Older versions are retained for reference but cannot be installed.
To publish a new version, update the source workflow and re-share. A new version entry is created with the updated definition.
Customization
Installed templates become regular workflows with no restrictions. Change triggers, add or remove nodes, modify conditions, swap integrations -- the installed workflow is yours to configure however you need. It does not receive updates from the original template.
