We never took venture money
You'd be careless not to ask this a second time this year. Relay raised $8.1 million from Khosla Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz and still wound down. Rills has taken no outside investment: no seed round, no board seat, no fund with an opinion about what this has to be worth by 2029.
Nobody outside can decide to wind it down
Venture money buys speed, and the company owes an outcome large enough to return a fund in exchange. Under that math a product can be growing steadily and paying its own bills and still be the wrong thing for the cap table to keep funding. Rills runs lean, so the number it has to clear is customers covering the bill.
No pressure to reprice you later
Approvals and logic steps are free because that's the product working as intended, not because a growth plan needs a loss leader for a while. There's no quarterly number forcing everyone up into an enterprise contract next year.
Bootstrapped still isn't a guarantee
A company without investors can run out of customers the same way a funded one runs out of runway, and any vendor who tells you otherwise is selling. What it buys you is a slower, more visible failure mode instead of a sudden one.

What happens to my Relay.app data if I don't export it?
It is permanently deleted at the end of the wind-down window. Relay also deletes its stored credentials and tokens for your connected apps at that point, so export anything you want to keep before the cutoff.

What do you do with the export prompt I send you?
We read it, rebuild the workflow it describes, and reply to you. Nothing else — it is not used to train AI models, and we never receive your credentials, since the AI-prompt export describes the logic, not your connected accounts. You reconnect your own integrations when you install the rebuilt workflow.
Is Rills venture funded?
No. Rills has taken no outside investment, so there is no fund, board, or growth target deciding the product's future. The bar it has to clear is customers covering the bill, not a trajectory steep enough to justify a round. That makes it a slower company on purpose, and it removes the failure mode where a working product gets wound down for not scaling fast enough.
Relay had venture funding and still shut down. What if Rills disappears too?
Rills took no venture money, so no investor clock is running, but no vendor can promise permanence and you shouldn't accept one that tries. Judge us by the exits instead. Your workflows and table data are exportable at any time — workflows as JSON, tables as CSV — and data return and deletion terms are contractual in the Data Processing Agreement that applies to every account. If Rills ever wound down, you'd get what Relay's customers got at minimum: an advance-notice window with full export access, never a surprise deletion.
Can EU and UK companies use Rills? What about GDPR?
